Research is an integral part of PEPP-Montréal. It aims at furthering our understanding of psychotic disorders and their impact on patients and their families and at developing and evaluating new treatment and prevention approaches.

Treating psychosis involves education, counselling, medication, close monitoring of symptoms, stress management, and a strong, supportive environment.

The Prevention and Early Intervention Program for Psychosis (PEPP-Montréal) is a program for young people who are experiencing an untreated first episode of psychosis.
Section : Psychotic Disorders
The Psychotic Disorders Program at the Douglas Institute provides services to adults aged 18 to 65 with schizophrenia or other forms of psychoses, with the exception of the Prevention and Early Intervention Program for Psychoses (PEPP-Montréal), which is designed for people aged 14 to 30.
Section : Internships
Psychologists at the Douglas Institute are involved in most of its programs. Students can thus receive training in one of the services of the Douglas such as the Service for Adolescents, Child Psychiatry Program.
Section : Continuing Medical Education
Fellowships provide support for senior residents who wish to add to their experience by engaging in mental health research and related activities in the Institute. Candidacy must be approved by the Chair of Psychiatry.
